Opening of the exhibition “The Untamed Has No Words. Michał Korta”

On April 24, at 6 pm we invite you to the opening of the exhibition of Michał Korta. We will show a collection of photography and at the same time a story of crossing boundaries, of the senses, and the world of animals (and people).

The artist photographs animals after dark in their natural environment. Some shots are granular, „moved”, others are situational freeze-frames. These are portraits of night hunters traversing forests, fields, and villages in search of food or shelter, and of wild creatures that had to adapt to living in an environment dominated by people. Such photographs are intertwined with precise studios of animal skulls. Photographed on an ultra-black background, they change into almost sculptural forms and at the same time provoke reflection on transience.

Michał Korta is an award-winning portrait and documentary photographer. He represents the new generation of photographers for whom showing places and people is inseparably connected with capturing the social, historical or emotional background. In 2015, the Art Verseed portal included him in the group of five most interesting photographers of East-Central Europe.
