Contemporary Norwegian Architecture 2005–2010

The exhibition mounted jointly with the Museum of Architecture in Oslo presents the best designs by Norwegian architects from 2005–2010, which undoubtedly brought them world‑wide fame.This recognition stems from a unique philosophy of architecture, developed over many years, which draws inspiration from the native tradition, harmoniously fits in with the landscape, uses natural materials and is highly rational but also beautiful in its simplicity and logic. In the photographs, blueprints, drawings and visualisations we can see  the architectural setting of the Norwegian National Tourist Tours, for example, the bus stop Akkarvikodden, the Lofota trail designed by manthey kula or the Sohlbergplassen viewpoint by Carl Viggo Holmebakk, as well as Juvet Landscape Hotel and the Cistercian monastery in Tautra designed by the Jensen & Skodvin studio, the Teachers’ House in Oslo designed by the studio Element Arkitekter AS or the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kathmandu by Kristin Jarmund. The show also includes the famous National Opera and Ballet in Oslo (Snøhetta SA design studio), rewarded with the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award 2009 – the European award for the best design in contemporary architecture.
