ICC Library

Modernizing the annexe at the International Cultural Centre within the second stage of the upgrading project made it possible to expand the ICC Library. The library is home to an impressive collection of books and periodicals devoted to the culture and heritage of Central Europe.
The new space allows to grow its book collection to over 30.000 and a special interior design guarantee unlimited access to the bookshelves. The Roland Berger Reading room contains twelve computer workstations, which provides visitors with access to major international databases, including Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), ARTstor (the British digital image collection), Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon - Internationale Künstlerdatenbank and the History E-Book project. The latter spans such disciplines as art history, architecture and the humanities.
The modern multimedia equipment and access to the international databases is possible thanks to the support of the Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and its "Counterparts" programme. The programme, a joint initiative of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and Goethe Institute, aims at promotion of culture and education in Central and Eastern Europe.
On the 20th of April 2007 Mr. Artur Pielech, Managing Partner of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, presented Prof. Jacek Purchla, the director of the ICC, with a picture showing Saint Laurent - patron of the librarians - as a symbol of the firm's support for the ICC.
As one of the world's leading strategy consulting firms, Roland Berger advises major international industry and service enterprises as well as public institutions on all issues of business management. The consultancy is active in all of the world's relevant markets, with 32 offices across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
