International Educational Programmes

The ICC provides specialised courses covering various aspects of cultural heritage and contemporary culture: summer courses for international students and young graduates as well as field seminars and workshops for foreign scholars and researchers. During the twenty years of its activity, the ICC has completed 60 programmes, attended by 2100 participants from most European countries, both Americas, Asia and Africa.

In the autumn of 2015, the ICC, together with the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, will inaugurate an educational programme entitled European Campus of Excellence. Addressed to 30 outstanding students and young academics from Poland, Germany, and other European states, the project will be devoted to the phenomenon of the creative city. The two-week long Creative City programme will consist of workshops, lectures, and study visits on the transformations taking place in contemporary cities, condusted in Kraków and Upper Silesia.

Japaneese Programme

The International Itinerant Seminar – the Heritage of the Borderlands, part IV: the Cultural Heritage of Visegrad Countries, will be organized in the period from 28 August till 6 September 2014. Exclusively prepared for Japanese scholars of the Commonwealth of the Two Nations’ history and culture, the cycle of seminars is dedicated to the question of borderlands in Central Europe. This year’s edition was put in the calendar of the V4 + Japan Exchange Year. Honorary patron of the event – the Embassy of Japan.

The itinerant seminar focused on the heritage and history of the Commonwealth of the Two Nations and the issue of multiculturalism in Central Europe addressed to Japanese scholars of Polish culture is to be organised in cooperation with European Union Institute in Japan, a consortium of four Tokyo universities: Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, International Christian University, Hitotsubashi University and Tsuda College. It is the first project in Europe implemented on the basis of co-operation with EUIJ. The first three  seminars were held, respectively, in Southeast Poland and Western Ukraine (2008, 18 participants); Lithuania (2010, 18 participants) and Belarus (2012, 20 participants).
