20 years of ICC






2011 was a special year for the International Cultural Centre. The twentieth anniversary of the ICC is not only an opportunity to reach conclusions but also a time to engage in broad debate on cultural heritage issues and the opening of new horizons in the area of research, exhibitions and publications in the years to come. The anniversary of the ICC falls in the last week of May was honoured with the presence of prominent people from the world of culture, heritage, art, economics and politics who have been connected with the ICC and helped to create its programme.

The main public event of the anniversary weekend was a ”round table” meeting with the participation of the co-authors of The ICC Jubilee Book - a debate on the transformations that have taken place in Poland and Central Europe over the last 20 years along the three themes covered in the book. An open-door Sunday at the ICC was the culmination of the anniversary weekend.

A on-line exhibition was also be prepared on the occasion of the 20th anniversary to be available on the ICC website and at multimedia kiosks in the ICC – presenting the Institution’s achievements and history in a nutshell.  The Panorama of the twenty yeras of the ICC is a journey in time to familiarise the viewer with the ICC’s activities and specialisation in terms of exhibitions, conferences, educational and publication projects.
