Practical information

Everyone can use the library. All you need is a valid passport or Polish ID.

To become our reader you need to fill in a form with your personal data. Every reader gets his/her own library card. It costs 5 PLN and is valid for 12 months. After this period you can extend it for another 12 months for 5 PLN. Except of those, you pay only for copying services.

You can use our collections only on the premises of the Library. We do not lend the books outside. It is possible to search our catalogue online*, you can do it from home or from every computer in the Library.

We do not provide either electronic orders or order slips. To receive chosen publication you need to write down the author, title and catalogue number which consists of letters "MCK" and following numbers or letters and numbers (e.g. MCK F-987, MCK 1254A) and give it to the duty librarian. You will be given the materials immediately.  There is free access to reference library and latest issues of magazines.

Currently, there are 12 computer workstations in the Reading Room, with access to Internet and  international databases. It is possible to work with your own laptop, however we do not provide wireless network.

There is a possibility to copy most of the materials in quantities allowed by copyright. You can take photos for free or pay for the services: black and white or colour copying and scanning. You can also print some articles from electronic databases.  

ATTENTION! The catalogue comprises the collections of 8 different libraries. Please, pay attention to localisation of the items you found and the catalogue number starting with "MCK".
