We decided to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the International Cultural Centre by producing a publication which would on the one hand sum up the last two decades of changes in Poland, Europe and the world and on the other hand provide a prognosis for the new decade. We asked our friends from Poland and abroad to share their reflections and experiences with readers. They did not refuse us!
The reflections contained in this book, created by fifty authors from many countries, are centred around three issues: Europe and dialogue; heritage and memory; culture and development. They are directly related to the mission of the ICC. We want to think and talk about the future in a modern way; to incorporate it into the inevitable change of which we are part.
