The volume comprises monographic descriptions of the churches and Roman Catolic  monasteries resolted from archival and field studies carried out of the area which constituted the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1772 by a team of Waras art historians in the years 1994-2000. This volume deals with hisotric monuments located in six towns: Dziewiątkoicze, Hniezna, Łopienica Wielka, Roś, Wołkowysk and Wołpa, which belong to the Grodno discrict now. The way of presentation follows that used in the first volume dedicated to the Old Rus Province (history, description, the state of preservation, artistic values, illustrative materials comprising old and contemporary photographs). The year 1939 is the terminal date. The extended source annexes refer to materials found in the archives and libraries of Grodno, Mińsk, Moscow and Vilnus. The state of preservation of churches and their internal fitting is much better in Belarus than in Ukraine as, despite Soviet government repression and atheism there was not such extensive extermination of Polish people or mass emigration after 1945.
